1. Laotian (Thai Isan)

Areas: Nong Khai, Nong Bua Lamphu, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Kalasin, Maha Sarakham, Khon Kaen, Chaiyaphum, Roi Et, Yasothon, Ubon Ratchathani, Loei, Mukdahan, Amnat Charoen, and some part of Sisaket, Surin, Nakhon Ratchasima and Buriram province

Language –  Tai–Kadai Language, Tai Noi Consonants and Tham script

Clothes     –  Men wear fisherman pants, mauhom shirt and pakama (waist cloth).

Women wear sinh (a tube skirt) and blue long-sleeved shirt.

2. Phu Tai

Areas: Nakhon Phanom, Kalasin, Mukdahan, Sakon Nakhon, Nong Khai, Amnat Charoen, Ubon Ratchathani, Udon Thani, Roi Et and Yasothon province

Heritages:

Language –  Phu Thai language

Clothes     –  Men wear fisherman pants or sarong, blue or black shirt, waist cloth and turban.

Women wear sinh of Phu Thai textiles, blue or black shirt and breast cloth.

Jobs           –  Agriculture and weaving

3. Tai Dam (Black Tai)

Areas: Loei, Phetchaburi, Ratchaburi, Lopburi, Suphan Buri, Nakhon Pathom and Phitsanulok province

Language – Tai Dam’s language
