The two provinces are neighbors where both are located just a few-hour drive. Like sisters, Loei and Chaiyaphum have things in common whether cultures of Northeastern and nature wises. Two cities have become great tourist destinations in the last 5 years, drawing more domestic ones and tourists from other countries for their valuably resourceful heritage of Esan. Add them in your plan to visit Thailand is recommended. To get there are much easier these days via air and roads. Getting There

Loei

Car
Take Highway 1 or Phahonyothin Road, passing AmphoeMueang of Saraburi. Turn onto Highway 21, passing Phetchabun. Take Highway 203, passing Amphoe Lom Sak, Lom Kao into Loei province. It takes approximately 7-8 hours.

 

Bus
@The Bangkok Northern Bus Terminal (Mo Chit 2)
The trip takes approximately 10 hours.

No railway station in Loei. However tourists can take a train from Bangkok Railway Station (Hua Lamphong) to UdonThani or Phitsanulok and take a bus to Loei.

Chaiyaphum

Car
Take Highway 1 (Phahonyothin Rd) from Bangkok to Saraburi. Turn right onto Highway 2 (Mittraphap Rd) and turn left into Highway 201 at Sikhio District, passing Dan Khun Thot and Chatturat Districts into Chaiyaphum, a total distance of 330 km. It takes approximately 5 ½-6 hours.

@ The Bangkok Northern Bus Terminal (Mo Chit 2)
It takes approximately 5 – 6 hours .

 

Train
@ Bangkok Railway Station (Hua Lamphong)
No railway station in Chaiyaphum. Take rapid and express trains from Bangkok to Nong Khai everyday. Get off at Bua Yai Station. After that, passengers can connect with a bus for a further 51 km to Chaiyaphum.

 

Plane
Take a plane to Khon Khaen and connect with a bus from Khon Kaen back to Chaiyaphum, a distance of 150 km.
